The drive to Mission Reef Resort from either Townsville or Cairns airports is along a stretch known as The Great Green Way. You will travel past giant mountains, sugar cane farms and banana plantations and will make your final run into Mission Beach through tropical rainforest. Drive slowly during this final stage as giant Cassowary birds inhabit the area and are not exactly known for their ability to avoid fast moving motor vehicles.

Flying into Cairns or Townsville
A comfortable air conditioned coach service provided by Mission Beach Dunk Island Connections can take you to our door from either Cairns or Townsville airports.

We would be happy to assist you in organising the correct transfer to Mission Reef Resort from either airport. Please let us know.

North Queensland by Train
Queensland Rail operate services that stop at nearby Tully station. There is also the new Tilt Train that runs an express service straight to Cairns. Again, we can help in organising things to ensure you are met for the trip down to Mission Beach.
